Avoid doing following things after having a meal in order to have good digestion.
1) Don’t sleep:
Sleeping after having a meal causes indigestion which will thus lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.
2) Don’t drink cold water during or after meals.
When we drink cold water, our metabolism speeds up. This is because more energy is used to heat up the cold water to body temperature. This diverts energy that should be used for digestion. When you are eating, you want all your energy directed at breaking down food so your body can easily assimilate the nutrients and eliminate waste.
3) Don’t drink liquids during or after meals.
Drinking liquids such as water, juice, tea etc during your meal dilutes your naturally occurring digestive enzymes and stomach acids which makes the food harder to breakdown. Thus causing digestive problems.
4) Don’t take a bath.
Bathing after having a meal increases the flow of blood to our hands, legs and body. As a result, the amount of blood around the stomach decreases. This weakens the digestive system in our stomach.
5) Don’t eat fruits.
When you eat your fruits during or after meals, the fruit is stuck in the stomach along with the contents of the meals and cannot reach the intestines in time. Lying there they get spoilt and spoil the remaining food in the stomach too. Therefore, it is recommended that one should eat a fruit at least one hour after eating a meal or before your meal and preferably in the morning with empty stomach.
6) Don’t smoke
Many studies have proven that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes, thus chances of cancer becomes more higher.
